Rashee Rice Will Not Be Disciplined by the NFL After Abuse Allegations by Ex-Girlfriend

The NFL found insufficient evidence to support claims Rashee Rice violated its personal conduct policy

The National Football League has concluded its investigation into abuse allegations againstRashee Rice, determining that theKansas City Chiefswide receiver will not face discipline under the league’s personal conduct policy.

In astatementreleased Friday, the NFL said it had closed its inquiry after finding “insufficient evidence to support a finding that he violated the personal conduct policy.”

"Mr. Rice wants to thank the NFL for their thorough investigation, and looks forward to the start of the 2026-27 NFL season," Rice's attorney, Sean Lindsey, said in a statement toThe Associated PressandESPN. The Chiefs have not publicly commented on the NFL's decision.

The investigation began in February after Rice’s former girlfriend,Dacoda Jones, alleged in a lawsuit that he had physically assaulted her multiple times over the course of their relationship, resulting in injuries including bleeding and bruising.

According to court documentspreviously reviewed by PEOPLE, Jones filed her lawsuit in Dallas County District Court on Feb. 16, alleging that she was “physically assaulted” by Rice at residences in Texas and Missouri between December 2023 and July 2025.

The lawsuit describes what Jones characterized as “an escalation in violent behavior,” alleging repeated incidents over that time period. She claimed Rice “grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, thrown, scratched, hit, and headbutted” her, along with other alleged acts including throwing objects, destroying property and locking her out of the home.

The petition further alleges that some of the incidents occurred while she was pregnant and resulted in injuries, including “bleeding, swelling, bruising and other pain and physical injury” to multiple parts of her body. Jones is seeking at least $1 million in damages.

Rice was served notice of the lawsuit on Feb. 18, according to court records.

In response to the lawsuit, Lindsey toldESPNin February, "On October 9th, 2025, well after the parties' relationship had ended, Ms. Jones stated under penalty of perjury in a sworn Affidavit for Non-Prosecution that 'Mr. Rice and I had a verbal argument, but he did not punch me.' We will allow the legal process to run its course and have no further comment at this time."

The two were previously in a long-term relationship and share two children together.

Before filing the lawsuit, Jones published since-deleted images of bruises and wounds on her body in January, alleging that she was abused. She did not name her alleged abuser in the post.

The NFL’s decision comes after Rice previously served a six-game suspension tied tohis role in a high-speed crashon a Dallas highway during the 2024 offseason, which left multiple people injured.

He later pleaded guilty to third-degree felony charges and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation.

Speaking with PEOPLE about their new movieThey Will Kill You,Heather Grahamrevealed that the “iconic”Harry Potteralum, 38, was a delight to have on set. According to the actress, whoplayed a satanic cultist alongside “charming” Felton, the actor always brought his instrument to set and used it to lighten the mood.

“He brings his ukulele to work and he sings a song about joining a cult. He was making us all laugh. He's really funny,” Graham, 56, told PEOPLE of her scene partner while speaking alongside costarMyha'laafter the film’s premiere atSXSW 2026.

While getting musical behind the scenes of the Tarantino-esque horror flick, the actor (who also makes music!) would give special attention to lead actressZazie Beetz, who had the most intense filming days of the star-studded cast. (The shoot left her “stripped raw” andincluded 12-hour days drenched in “freezing cold water,”she told PEOPLE.)

“He was trying to entertain Zazie, who was really tired,” Graham said of Felton. “Obviously, she has so much action, but he was singing the song like, ‘The cult's not that bad. Just join us.’ I don't know. It was making fun of how ridiculous the cult is, basically.”

On working with Felton more generally, Graham says he was a “great actor” — and played it cool about working with theBoogie Nightsactress until well after they wrapped.

“I mean, he's an iconic person. He's a mixture of being a really great actor, funny [and] interesting,” she tells PEOPLE. “It's funny because last night at the premiere, he was like, ‘Well, I was so excited to work with you,’ but he seems so cool. I never really got that when we were working together.”

Myha'la, 29, then chimed in to joke that Felton “was keeping it tight."

They Will Kill Youfollows Asia Reaves (Beetz), an ex-convict who “must survive the night at the Virgil, a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap of a lair, before becoming their next offering in a uniquely brazen, big screen battle of epic kills and wickedly dark humor," per an official synopsis.

The entire cast — which also includesPatricia Arquetteand Paterson Joseph — was enthusiastic about the horror-action flick from the very beginning, director and co-writer Kirill Sokolov told PEOPLE.

“I think it's such a different and unique thing that people who read the script, they just got excited and they believed in it,” said Sokolov, who co-wrote the genre-blending movie with Alex Litvak. “And then we started casting it, and every single person I talked to just somehow got it, and had so much passion and was so excited to do it.”

“Also for them, it was interesting because they didn't do it before,” the director said of the cast. “It's such a cool thing when you deal with actors like Zazie or Patricia or Myha'la or Tom Felton or Heather Graham who are very experienced and they're masters of their work and they had, like, such long careers and you bring them something that they never tried before.”

The child-like “passion” and “excitement of getting there and trying to do something new,” he added, was the “best honor for me.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla can expect a few differences from U.K. state banquets when they dine at the White House during their upcoming visit to the U.S.

WhenKing CharlesandQueen Camillasit down with PresidentDonald Trumpand first ladyMelania Trumpat the White House later in April, things will feel very different from the historic settings of Windsor Castle.

Trump visited the U.K. twice for state visits, thefirst in June 2019and hosted by Queen Elizabeth, and again during hissecond term in September 2025, after King Charles acceded the throne. Now, King Charles and Queen Camilla willmake their first state visit to the United States this month, where they'll be the ones feted.

Social etiquette coachWilliam Hanson, who has worked with six royal households and built an international reputation as an authority on protocol and decorum, hasdescribed state visits as “a form of theater,”with each stage rehearsed and the product of decades of well-practiced protocol.

He says King Charles and Queen Camilla’s upcoming trip will follow a similar pattern to other visits and to that of the British-hosted occasions, with an official welcome, a lunch, a presentation of gifts and a state dinner.

He adds, “State entertaining is not particularly innovative. There’s a belief we did it once like this and it worked, so why change it?”

Although the schedule for the four days in the U.S. has not been announced, the president did say that a dinner was on the agenda. Shortly after Buckingham Palace confirmed the visit, saying on March 31, that the program "will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence," President Donald Trump made his own statement.

In it, he shared that the King and Queen will visit from April 27 to 30, with a state dinner at the White House on April 28. "I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect,"Trump said.

The dinner, Hanson tells PEOPLE, “will follow the tradition of all other American state entertaining. So, it won’t be white tie, but black tie,” setting it apart from when the royalshosted the Trumps in September 2025 at Windsor Castle.

However, Hanson adds, “The last time the Americans did white tie was when President George W. Bush entertained the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. It will be more casual. It will be very formal for most people but more casual than a British one," referring toQueen ElizabethandPrince Philip's2007 state visitto the U.S.

He predicts “there will be more celebrities there.”

Dinner will be served to guests seated around "round tables as opposed to one long table like at Windsor. It will look and feel a bit different,” Hanson says.

The shape of tables changed with Jacqueline Kennedy. The thinking was that those tables “are more sociable,” but it also means a change to the place setting. “In Britain, we might have table settings that have nine pieces of cutlery on each side of the plate, measured in line with a ruler, and if you have straight-edged tables, that is going to stay there,”Hanson told PEOPLE in 2025. “But if you have round tables, the cutlery is going to fall off the table.”

For King Charles, who is attending both at the invitation of the Trumps but also at the request of the British government, it is a delicate diplomatic operation.

“The point of the state visit is to forge relations, and the King is very personable and is a good conversationalist and has a good sense of humor,” Hanson tells PEOPLE.  “He is an interesting person to speak to — not that his mother wasn’t. But the King is arguably more relaxed and is a people person and is interested in other people, which you have to be in order to do his job.”

Despite ongoing tensions and disagreements between Trump and the U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the Iran conflict, Trump talks fondly of King Charles.

“They are similar ages. They have something in common," Hanson notes. "If Trump likes him, that’s a big asset to Britain.”

It is King Charles' first state visit to the U.S. His mother undertook four state visits to the U.S. in 1957, 1976, 1991 and 2007. As Prince of Wales, Charles has traveled to stateside 19 times, including with Camillaon what was their first foreign touras husband and wife in 2005.

The previous high for a nine-inning game since the pitch clock started in 2023 was 3:45 for theOakland Athletics' 7-6 win at the New York Metson Aug. 15, 2024.
